Job Description And Job Requirements For Hotel Reservation...

Receiving a new position that immediately causes you responsible for someone can be intimidating. However, with the appropriate management skills, it can be done while earning the respect of your employees. Having to make drastic changes throughout the entire hotel in the first week is another obstacle that must be dealt with properly. From rewriting job descriptions, to promoting, to firing, rehiring, and establishing a training program, no task will be easy, but will be well worth it to turn things around within the hotel. As the General Manager walking into a new hotel where no one knows me, I would be nervous to make any huge changes right off the bat. However, in this particular hotel, many things need to be added and changed,†¦show more content†¦They must have wholesome communication skills to serve the customers in a suitable fashion. Agent must have a decent knowledge of each type of room the hotel offers to make accurate reservations for guests. Must be able to ups ell to ensure guests have an unforgettable stay. Must communicate reservations to the front desk in an orderly fashion. Must be able to keep track of future room availability based on past reservations. Must uphold a neat and orderly work environment that is hospitable to guests (Job Description for Reservation Agent). Minimum Qualifications: Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Must be able to speak, read, and write in English and/or Spanish. Experience: Some type of hospitality, customer service, or sales experience desired but not required. Familiar with office machines, and adequate knowledge of Microsoft Office. Next, as the General Manager I noticed that there is a need for a new Assistant General Manager, and I would like to promote from within. I believe promoting from within improves retention rates and enriches the culture of the company.
